Getting the most out of life...

As I ride the bus every day, it came to my attention that there are not very many happy looking people out there these days. I also noticed that the various newspapers are full of negative and depressing stuff. The prices of EVERYTHING is going up at an alarming rate as well. Stuff like milk and bread, the basics, are way out of line. Nobody says Hi to anyone else on the street anymore. Gas has gotten to be a real luxury item too. Hydro fees are just nuts, as are telephone bills. Soon, only the rich will be able to live. The average person will be a thing of the past. Poor people will be treated almost like criminals, it's almost that way now. Homeless people are victimized every day and treated like the plague. Our society has been taken over by non-caring butt-lickers and power hungry leeches that are draining this country of it's lifeblood.

We get the choice every four years of picking this dufuss or that crook or that liar to represent us and speak for us. What a farce! They are not worthy, any of them, to speak for us, let alone act on our behalf. Some choice we have there now isn't it? All these dorks do is dictate and lie to us and make promises they never keep. They make new laws almost daily to screw us over and contribute daily to our grief. None of them seem to be accountable for any of their actions.

Is it any wonder, I don't see any smiling faces on the buses? Most would ask you, what do they have to smile about? Well folks, thank God we still have a little quality time on our own to do the things we like to do. Thank God there are hobbies for us to get into to try and balance the crap we have to endure. Thank God there are still a few of life's small pleasures not too far from most of us to enjoy. Stuff like the forests, fields and rivers where we can go and experience nature at it's finest. I believe that nature is our last frontier and that more city folks should start to see that, before it's all gone too.

How many millions of acres of wild Canadian bush does the government own that we can't do anything with? Everything is about money now. If you don't have much of it, you don't have much of a chance to have a good life anymore. So, before it's too late, get out there in the bush. Take your children out in the field and share the fresh air, the birds and the simpleness of all that, with them. Give them the opportunity to feel and smell and touch the real world, before it's all gone and turned into fancy housing developments or strip malls. Get out there and enjoy it while you can...

Truckin' with Larry...

Woa, where did February go already? Oh ya, I remember now, I was busy working through it at my brand new job. I started with a new company at the beginning of last month and haven't had the time nor the energy, let alone the inspiration, to do much (any) blogging for weeks. This work I do now involves driving a cube van, not only here in Ottawa but also to Cornwall, along the Seaway, and to Pembroke, along the Mighty Ottawa River, and out to Richmond Ontario near the semi-famous, Jock River. The time flies and the work is physical as well as challenging, so I really like it so far. I can just imagine how nice it will be to drive that rig in the spring and summer, now that I've been driving in deep snow and on icy roads. This rig even has AC for when the summer finally gets here. Gonna love that too!

Here's a picture I took while rollin' down the blacktop the other day. Hey look, it's me, LarryB, the Trucker guy. :-)

I think that it is just amazing what can be done with these new, super slick little Digital cameras. This little Pentax of mine has easily paid for itself already, by letting me take shots that I could NEVER have taken with any of my previous 35mm units. :-)

Well, gotta run, there's more to do before I hit the rack tonight.
